Toronto Unique Moving — Rebuilt

Ken had been running Toronto Unique Moving for 15+ years. He was paying monthly for a website that generated zero leads. When he tried to leave, the IT company wouldn't hand over the site. We got the domain back, rebuilt everything, and opened a market he never had access to.

THE SITUATION

Paying for a website that didn't work, and couldn't leave.

Ken's company had hundreds of 5-star reviews, but his website was built and managed by an IT consulting company that charged a monthly subscription. After 3 years of paying, the site had generated no measurable leads. When Ken decided to stop paying and take control, the IT company refused to hand over the website. After a dispute, he recovered the domain, but not the site itself.

Decision 01: Why WordPress
Ken's requirement

I want to update it myself. I never want to depend on anyone for my own website again.

After 3 years of paying someone else to manage a site he couldn't even access, Ken had one non-negotiable requirement: he needed to update content, pricing, photos, and service pages himself, without calling a developer or paying a retainer. WordPress was Ken's choice. He'd seen other businesses use it, the editing interface made sense to him, and he'd never be locked out of his own site again. We built every page to be fully editable through the WordPress admin. No code needed.

Decision 02: Why AI-generated imagery, not stock
The image problem

Stock photos say "generic company." AI-generated imagery built around your brand says "we've done this before."

Moving companies live on trust. Customers need to see who's coming into their home. The previous site used stock icons and generic imagery. We generated custom AI images for every service page: condo moves with elevator bins, kitchen packing, business inventory checks, office relocations. Each image matches the exact service it's on. That specificity is what converts.

Decision 03: AI video commercials
Early experiment, built early 2025

Video builds trust faster than anything else. We used AI to get there immediately, at a fraction of the cost.

A local moving company can't justify a $10K video production. But video is the highest-trust marketing format for a business where strangers are entering your home. We generated two AI video commercials using the same branded characters from the website. These were produced in early 2025 when AI video generation was still maturing. They gave Ken usable video assets immediately rather than waiting for a production budget that may never come.

Decision 04: Why a full Chinese site
The untapped market

630K+ Chinese speakers in the GTA. Almost no moving company has a Chinese site.

We researched the Toronto moving market and found a massive gap: Chinese-speaking residents are one of the largest communities in the GTA, but almost no moving company has a dedicated Chinese-language website. The few that exist are small operators with basic WeChat posts. A professional, SEO-optimized Chinese site has virtually zero competition.

Decision 05: Why 25 pages, not 5
The SEO gap

Every missing page is a customer who finds a competitor instead.

When someone in Mississauga searches "movers near me" and Ken's site has no Mississauga page, Google sends them to someone who does. The old site had one generic "Services" page. We researched what people actually search: by service type, by city, by situation, and built a dedicated landing page for each. Every page is a door that leads to a quote request.
